Topic Description - Spring 2 2019
In L2 we have become eager scientists ready to explore!
We will be investigating and comparing different woodland areas. As part of our engage phase we find out what lives in the woods, to do this we will spend a day in our school woodland area and then drive out to the peak district to compare the different locations. We will carefully observe and document our findings of the creatures and wildlife we find and see if we have made any new discoveries!
We will use our research to create information leaflets and posters to share our learning. Within Art and Design, we will take a very up close and personal look at the shapes and textures of different wildlife to create illustrations.
Using what we know about how wildlife thrive in their natural habitats, we will experiments with different materials and use our maths learning to analyse and plot our findings. Finally, we will combine all of our valuable learning to create 5 star hotels for our chosen wildlife creatures.
As part of our express phase, we invite our parents and carers in on Monday the 1st April 10-11 to come along and build our hotels with us.
