Louise & Carly
In English wewill be reading the iconic children’s story The Iron Man by Ted Hughes.
We will use this key text to develop our creative writing skills including building confidence across the four key areas: speaking and listening, reading and writing.
In maths we will gain confidence and fluency in mathematics and demonstrate developing mathematical knowledge and skills in; number and the number system; common measures, shape and space. We will apply our skills and knowledge through mathematical problems, life skills and cross curricular projects.
And in Science, students will be working towards their Entry Level qualification, commencing with a Chemistry module focused on elements, mixtures and compounds. Students will learn that all matter is composed of tiny particles called atoms and that there are about 100 naturally occurring types of atoms called elements. They will explore the elements which make up the periodic table and learn that these are the building blocks for all substances. These substances have different properties, depending on whether they are solid, liquid or gas at room temperature.
