Abbey School is a school for young people with SEND. We are a small school based in Kimberworth Rotherham and currently have 150 pupils aged from reception to Y11 on the main site with Post 16 being situated in the Town Centre.

The school has a strong ethos on inspiring youngsters to learn, believing that they are able to overcome any barriers and achieving their absolute full potential.

Due to our excellent CPD package a number of our current ISW’s have moved up into more senior positions as so this along with growing pupil numbers has led to us having vacancies to welcome more people into our team.

Do you have:

• The skills to place pupil learning at the centre of all your practice.
• The ability to make sound judgements on attainment & progress of students, assess and celebrate in their success.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to enthuse and motivate others
• Experience of delivering a diverse package of learning & pastoral support to pupils.
• Ability to set appropriate and challenging targets for yourself and others
• Ability to make and take decisions both individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to contribute to and share quality practice with other ISWs, teachers and the team.
• Commitment to partnership between staff, parents and students
• Grade C or above in both English & Maths GCSE or equivalent

Post title: ICT Engineer
Hours: 37 hours (Term time +15 days)

Abbey School is recruiting for an energetic and customer focused ICT Engineer to support the maintenance and development of the ICT infrastructure within the schools. Reporting into the Deputy Head, this is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a similar role or someone who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You will be an integral part of the team on site, providing day to day maintenance and support in the use of ICT facilities to teachers, support staff and students. As IT Engineer you will also be required to contribute to the continual service improvement of the ICT support service and provide guidance and development to colleagues and students where required.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience in Microsoft server technologies, Microsoft/Apple desktop and software support. Knowledge of networking, wireless solutions, website administration/development and in addition, mobile technologies is an essential requirement. You will have excellent communication skills, solid technical skills, be adaptable and have the ability to work as part of a team.

Voluntary Work

Abbey School welcome requests from the general public, student and colleges to engage in voluntary work. The school will support you with applying for a DBS before allowing you to engage into school life. We value the support that volunteers can give us whether that be listening to pupils read or fundraising on the schools behalf.
